Moving Past Failure
But, for some people, disappointments and letdowns are their constant companions.
Do you feel like that? Do you struggle and struggle and still get nowhere? Are you accustomed to settling for less than you expect? Do your best efforts seem to go wrong? Have you put your trust in businesses or your faith in "experts" only to be let down again and again? If this is you, you're probably sick of failure and tired of trying everything and still ending up with no results.
You want to change, but you don't know how.
You may feel like there's no one you can trust to help you.
I know how you feel.
I've been there.
I know what it feels like to put my life on hold, push my dreams out further and further - just another week, another year, and then I'll take that class or read that book or start that website.
Or maybe you say, "Once the kids leave the house, then I'll start," or "We just need to move to that new house, and then I can begin.
" If you're really connecting with what I'm describing right now, I want you to know that I feel for you.
Life has been hard, and you're battle-worn.
You've been pummeled by disappointments, failures, delays, letdowns, and breakdowns.
If this is you, here is my advice: Do not allow yourself to be victimized by past failures! Yes, it is important to acknowledge things that went wrong in the past - that is essential in order to move on and grow - but past disappointments should not immobilize you for the future.
Do not allow yourself to think • My life will never improve • I can't succeed at anything • I shouldn't even try • I should give up • I'm just not going to have a fulfilling life If you think these thoughts, then that is what will happen.
Instead, I want you to tell yourself • My past can only make me stronger • I have nothing to lose (or fear) • I have something to offer • I will NOT give up no matter what • I CAN have a life that I love People may call you foolish or a dreamer, but do not listen to them.
Envision yourself successful, happy, and fulfilled.
It can be a reality.
I simply want to encourage you today.
The first step in moving beyond failure is believing that a brighter future is possible.
Hang onto that hope! To your unstoppable success, Meri
